Most of the food was great. Some needed more seasoning. The calamari was fabulous, the breading had a great flavor and it was fried perfectly. Don't skip dessert the coconut and carrots cakes were moist and so good. The white staff was very kind, very helpful.

I don’t usually leave reviews, but this place truly deserves one. We stopped here on our way from Queens, NY to Virginia Beach along Route 13. We tried their dinner specials, the roast turkey and the salmon, and both were fresh and perfectly cooked. Before the meal, our server Koby brought us a delicious Greek salad and warm cornbread, which he recommended, and we loved them. Koby was super friendly and checked on us several times to make sure everything was perfect. The service and the welcoming atmosphere are worth every penny. It’s a lovely local family restaurant, we’ll definitely stop by again!!!!

We had a great dinner here during our trip through the eastern shore. Our waiter, Dennis, was so friendly and we felt he was very respectful towards our group, and especially patient with our elderly parents. He made our visit very special and was such a nice gentleman. We will be sure to come back again!

Great diner with fast service great menu choices and easy parking. Friendly folks. Stop usually for breakfast on our way south but good lunch and dinner chooses. Extensive menu nice portions. Not overwhelming sizes but good portions. Very clean bathrooms and main area. Pancakes are nice sized and egg sandwiches are great.

We typically have our Sunday morning breakfast at the Sage, especially when visitors are in town. Breakfast is our favorite meal at this diner. We are usually greeted with a big hug from the hostess Barbara as we enter. After we are seated, Dennis our requested server is quick to bring our drinks and take our order. His outgoing personality and genuine friendliness keep us coming back! While we enjoy the food, it's more about how special the staff makes us feel and their genuine warmth and friendliness to our guests and ourselves. Next time you're passing by on Route 13 stop in for a bite and a friendly hug!

I stopped by there on the way back to Norfolk last night. Even though it was close to closing time, they took my order. When I tell you the food was delicious, it's an understatement! The customer service was awesome, the CRAB SOUP was amazing and the green beans were perfect!! I'd give them ten stars if I could!!

THE OASIS. We were traveling this highway for the first time. It was dinnertime and we hadn't eaten since breakfast. The pickings were bleak. We passed a faded "Sage Diner" sign, but no diner! Later, we came upon the present diner and decided that it was this or nothing! Serendipity! Our Country Fried Steaks were perfect! Service was just right. It was not busy at the time. Our waitress, Samantha, told us that she had been with Sage right from the beginning (Was she 12 when she started?). The location that we passed was the original one that had burned down. It came back in the present location. In the end, we were well rewarded for making that U-turn! At the time of this review, Sage had an extensive "Dinner for Two" menu (Mix and match) with some attractive prices. We likely won't make this trip again, but we know where to eat if we do!
